Take advantage of your kids’ wide open schedules and the free activities listed below to stay connected to your children over the summer months. Strong family connections foster confidence and happiness and quality family time is one of the most important aspects of a happy childhood. Go out and have some  good old-fashioned fun this summer — it’s good for you and them too!

SCFD Free Days

If your child is a daydreamer, a coloring fiend, a nature-lover, or a non-stop question-asker, you might want to head to one of the attractions below–especially since Colorado families enjoy free entry to them on select days throughout the summer. The full list of free days is found here.

MY Denver Card

Help your kids take full advantage of summer by getting them free access to 23 recreation centers, 29 pools, and all city libraries which is available year-round for all Denver students ages 5 to 18 with the MY Denver Card. Families can get a MY Denver Card in one of two ways:
1. Parents of Denver residents may take their children to any of the 23 recreation centers throughout the city to fill out the paperwork to receive their MY Denver Card.
2. Families may also print the registration form at home and submit it at an appropriate recreation center.

Red Rocks Amphitheatre and Park

Access to one of the world’s most iconic music venues, Red Rocks, is free when there’s no concert playing. Visitors can sit in the stands, run around on stage like their favorite rock star, explore the visitor center, and take to the hiking trails that weave in, around and over the colorful red rocks. Hammond’s Candy Factory

What child wouldn’t love a free tour at a candy factory? If you add in an ending with free samples, you might just receive a jump for joy. Hammond’s Candy Factory has been making candy in Denver since 1920, and the tour offers a behind the scenes look at the makings of every child’s favorite food.
