Helpful Tips for Students

Making Trainings a Priority

Once selected, you will be required to attend mandatory trainings. If these trainings conflict with your school schedule, please make arrangements with your school to adjust your schedule to allow you to attend these trainings.

NPI Application Process

Apply for your National Provider Identifier (NPI) upon submission of your application.

WellPower requires all students to possess an NPI before starting any hours with us in student placement. Be prepared to complete this process as you submit your application for student placement.

What is NPI?

The NPI is a Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) Administrative Simplification Standard. The NPI is a unique identification number for covered healthcare providers.

How do I apply for an NPI?

To complete the online NPI application, you must first obtain an Identity & Access (I&A) User ID. You start the process by going to https://nppes.cms.hhs.gov/. Please refer to the document below for directions to complete your application.
