PTSD Treatment in Denver That Honors Your Experience

Trauma‑Informed, Evidence‑Based PTSD Care at WellPower

Living with posttraumatic stress can feel exhausting, isolating and overwhelming. You might feel constantly on edge, emotionally numb, disconnected from others or stuck reliving things you wish you could leave behind. At WellPower, we provide compassionate, trauma-informed PTSD treatment for adults, children and teens across Denver and the metro area.

Our care is grounded in respect, choice and safety. Healing from trauma happens at your pace, on your terms, with support you can trust.

What Is PTSD?

PostTraumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) can develop after experiencing or witnessing something deeply distressing or threatening. Trauma can take many forms, including violence, abuse, accidents, medical trauma, loss of a loved one or ongoing stress.

PTSD is not a weakness or a failure to “move on.” It is a natural response to overwhelming experiences, and it is treatable with the right care.

Common PTSD Symptoms

PTSD affects people differently. You may benefit from PTSD treatment if you experience:

  • Intrusive memories, flashbacks or nightmares
  • Avoiding reminders of a traumatic event
  • Feeling constantly alert, tense or easily startled
  • Difficulty sleeping or concentrating
  • Emotional numbness or detachment
  • Intense guilt, shame, anger or fear
  • Feeling disconnected from yourself or others

Symptoms may come and go, or feel more intense during periods of stress. Support can help reduce their impact and restore a sense of stability.

Trauma and PTSD Conditions We Treat

WellPower clinicians support individuals experiencing:

  • Post‑Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD)
  • Complex trauma
  • Trauma related to abuse or violence
  • Childhood and developmental trauma
  • Medical or accident‑related trauma
  • Trauma co‑occurring with anxiety, depression or substance use

We recognize that trauma does not look the same for everyone – and neither does healing.

Our Trauma‑Informed Approach to PTSD Treatment

At WellPower, PTSD treatment is collaborative, evidence-based and trauma-informed. You remain in control of your care, with clinicians who respect your boundaries and lived experience.

Therapy for PTSD and Trauma

Depending on your needs and readiness, care may include:

  • EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing)
  • Traumafocused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT)
  • Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) skills for emotional regulation
  • Motivational Interviewing to support engagement and choice
  • Individual therapy, group therapy or integrated approaches

Our goal is not to force you to relive trauma, but to help you reduce distress, build coping skills and regain a sense of safety and control

Medication Management (When Appropriate)

For some people, psychiatric medication can help manage symptoms such as anxiety, sleep disruption or mood changes related to PTSD.

Our psychiatric providers:

  • Work collaboratively with you
  • Explain options clearly
  • Adjust treatment based on your comfort and goals

Medication is always optional and personalized.

Trauma often affects more than mental health alone. That’s why WellPower offers integrated support services, which may include:

  • Case management and care coordination
  • Support navigating Medicaid or insurance
  • Connections to housing, employment and community resources
