What Does Addiction Treatment Look Like at WellPower?
Addiction treatment looks different for each person. Some people need support to stop using substances. Others want to use less, reduce harm, manage cravings or understand how substance use connects with their mental health. A good treatment plan should respect your goals, your pace and your lived experience.
At WellPower, substance abuse treatment may include individual therapy, group therapy, psychiatry, medication support, case management and peer support. Depending on your needs, you may also participate in an intensive outpatient program or medication-assisted treatment. These services can help with alcohol use, opioid use and other substance use concerns.
Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP)
Build the skills to manage mental health and addiction. WellPower's Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP) is a 12-week treatment program for adults who are experiencing both mental health and substance use diagnoses (such as depression and addiction to alcohol). IOP supports people served at WellPower in learning new skills and strategies to support their long-term recovery.
Medication Assisted Treatment (MAT)
Access medications to manage cravings while building long-term recovery. MAT is a proven, science-based treatment that helps reduce cravings and provides relief from withdrawal symptoms. In MAT, individuals can get the most out of behavioral health therapy while receiving medications for Opioid Use Disorder (OUD) treatment. By using prescribed medications and therapies, many people can sustain their recovery from addiction and find consistent, positive well-being.
Therapy and Counseling for Substance Use
Therapy can be an important part of addiction recovery. Addiction counseling gives you space to talk through what is happening, identify patterns and build new skills for stress, cravings, relationships and daily life. An addiction therapist can also help you address mental health symptoms that may be connected to substance use.
WellPower uses evidence-informed approaches that may include cognitive behavioral therapy, also known as CBT therapy, dialectical behavior therapy (DBT), motivational interviewing and other forms of addiction therapy. These approaches can help you notice the thoughts, feelings and situations that make substance use more likely, then practice new ways to respond.

WellPower is proud to accept Medicaid as a health insurance option for addiction and substance use treatment at WellPower. Medicaid covers a wide range of costs associated with behavioral health services, including our Intensive Outpatient and Medication Assisted Treatment programs.
As a community mental health center, WellPower understands that accessing mental and behavioral health care can be difficult. We can help you navigate and understand your Medicaid coverage, access the wealth of services we offer and find your path to recovery.
You can expect to have access to our complete range of services, from "typical" mental health options like therapy, psychiatry and medication management to filling more complex needs, such as case management and residential housing.
Additionally, we offer programs to support education and employment, provide access to basic needs like food and clothing, as well as on-site pharmacies, classes, groups and so much more.
When you use your Medicaid insurance with WellPower, these programs cost you no money because Medicaid pays for your access to them.
