Sheridan on 10th - Supportive Housing

Now Open: Sheridan on 10th

Current narratives suggest that homelessness and housing crises are unsolvable problems. WellPower disagrees.

Sheridan on 10th is a three-story, supportive housing apartment building in Denver’s Villa Park Neighborhood. The building consists of 60 one-bedroom and one-bath units for chronically unhoused individuals.

On June 24, 2025, we celebrated the grand opening of Sheridan on 10th, commemorating the occasion with a ribbon-tying and words from our partners. We are so grateful to our community for sharing this momentous occasion with us.

WellPower's Approach to Housing

At WellPower, we understand it can be difficult to get well -- to sustain a sense of personal dignity and belonging in the community -- without the stability of a home. For that reason, part of WellPower's mission encompasses providing affordable, supported housing services.

Housing is one part of the array of services we offer to the people we serve. We operate 12 residential treatment houses and nine apartment buildings. We also partner with city, state and federal agencies to help more than 1,000 households find housing that meets their needs and expectations through voucher programs. Our housing services are offered with a comprehensive array of clinical and supportive services to meet the individual needs of the people we serve, including: psychiatry, financial coaching and support, employment assistance, medical care, substance use counseling, acquisition of public benefits, support for family life and engagement with activities of daily living.

Trauma-Informed Design

Working with Davis Partnership Architects, who similarly supported our Sanderson Apartments, the design concepts provide a light, bright and open design with direct access to the outdoors. The use of wider-than-standard hallways, with views to the exterior and spaces to meet, talk and contemplate is one of the multiple design strategies to create a healing and nurturing environment.

WellPower provides supportive services on-site and residents have access to WellPower’s full array of clinical services that are available in our satellite clinics. On-site staffing includes residential counselors and safety officers.

Following the success of our Sanderson Apartments that opened in 2017, we were dedicated to finding ways to create more housing-first model options that use trauma-informed design concepts. We identified a potential space in the Villa Park Neighborhood and began discussing opportunities for a new housing site with community in the Spring of 2020. We broke ground in Spring of 2024 and are excited to celebrate Sheridan on 10th's opening.

We are grateful for the support of developing partners who helped collaborate on the shared infrastructure needed for the space, the community who provided feedback and are excited to welcome our residents to the neighborhood and the funders who believe in supportive housing projects.
