Mental Health First Aid is a groundbreaking public education program that helps the public identify, understand and respond to signs of mental illness and substance abuse disorders. It is a 8-hour interactive course that prepares people to recognize mental health problems and psychiatric crises, and gives them the tools to help until professional treatment is received or the crisis is resolved.
Mental Health First Aid is designed to benefit a variety of key professionals, including employers, business leaders, faith communities, school personnel and educators, police and corrections officers, nursing home staff, state policy makers, volunteers, young people and the general public.
The WellPower has six Mental Health First Aid certified instructors on staff and is bringing this important training to the community. Find a Mental Health First Aid course in your area here.
