James Greer Selected as New Vice President and Chief Operating Officer at WellPower

WellPower, Denver’s nationally-recognized community mental health center, is pleased to announce the appointment of James Greer as the organization’s new vice president and COO. Greer will be responsible for leading the day-to-day operations at WellPower, ensuring that the nonprofit is operating as efficiently and effectively as possible to meet the rise in demand for critical mental health services in Denver.

Greer brings a wealth of experience and expertise to the role, having held executive operations leadership positions in multiple healthcare organizations, most recently Vivent Health, an AIDS service organization providing medical home services for people living with HIV. His experience also includes executive operations roles at two prominent organizations serving adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities: Bridges US and Bethesda Lutheran Communities.

“James is a strategic thinker and visionary leader known for his ability to convert organizational intent into tangible results,” said Carl Clark, MD, president and CEO of WellPower. “James is committed to delivering operational excellence with an equity lens and we are confident that his servant-leadership style and experience as a change agent will be an invaluable asset to our organization.”

Greer will report directly to the CEO and will oversee eight internal departments. As a member of executive management, he will collaborate with the senior leadership team to develop and implement strategies that will help achieve long-term goals in service of the Denver community.

He currently serves as a board director for the Children’s Museum Denver at Marsico Campus and served as a former board director for The Academy of Urban Learning, a charter school focusing on students experiencing difficult barriers to achieving educational success.

Greer begins his tenure at WellPower on February 27, 2023.
