Emerson St. WellPower@2x

About Emerson St.

Emerson St. provides a supportive community for teens and young adults, ages 15 – 26, seeking connection and belonging. This inclusive, welcoming place offers a variety of activities and services that support young people in enhancing their mental health and overall well-being.

Where We Came From: Emerson St.’s History

Way back in 2015, WellPower realized there was a gap in care when young people would age out of our Child & Family services, only to return years later as adults with no bridge of care in between. Thus, Emerson St. was born.

Our program is built for teens and young adults ages 15 to 26. We know that young people in this age range need connection and community just as much as they may need clinical services. We also know that receiving services in a place that feels homey and comfortable is far more appealing than a clinical facility or traditional office setting.

We purchased our first home at 1610 Emerson St – the namesake of our program – in 2015 and made the space truly ours, in full collaboration with the youth we serve. After many wonderful years in our space, unfortunately we encountered a tragedy at the beginning of 2024. A pipe burst in Emerson St.’s building, causing irreparable damage to the structure and making it unsafe for us to operate from. We’ve since moved to our temporary home in WellPower’s Dickenson building at 4141 E Dickenson Pl.

We’re so grateful to our fellow WellPower staff members for welcoming us with open arms as we search for our forever home. We don’t know where it’ll be yet, or when we’ll find it, so for now we’ll keep our Emerson St. name in honor of our very first and most beloved space.
