Mary Frances McMahon Outstanding Clinician Award

Every year, WellPower staff gather for an All Staff Meeting at Infinity Park. It’s a time of celebration, fun, information sharing, and connecting with each other.

The All Staff Meeting this year was especially meaningful with the presentation of the first Mary Frances McMahon Outstanding Clinician Award.

Mary Frances McMahon received services through the WellPower for nearly three decades. When she passed away at the end of 2017, her family wanted to do something to honor both her memory and the dedication of Mary’s last case manager, Naomi Evans, LPC. Mary’s siblings were touched by the level of care Naomi provided their late sister.

Mary’s two brothers and her sister, Dr. Kathy Giacomini, decided to establish an endowed fund and annual award for an outstanding clinician in Mary’s name.

Naomi was the first recipient of the Mary Frances McMahon Outstanding Clinician Award. Kathy and her daughter, Alex Giacomini, presented Naomi with the award, along with Vice President of Development Ric Durity.

About her special relationship with Mary, Naomi said: “Mary was one of the sweetest people I had the pleasure of working with. The way she lived her life reminded me to strive and try to be a great person and always be present. This award means so much to me, and I am honored and overwhelmed by the love and appreciation I have received from Mary’s family. It was an honor to be a part of her life and she has forever left a mark on my heart.”

We’re honored to carry Mary’s memory through this award, and we’re grateful to Mary’s family for their generosity.
